How much does sailing school cost? The cost is variable but here are some guidelines: A marina based sailing school charges approximately $1,600-$2,000/person/week.This is usually all-inclusive and could be the learning vacation of a lifetime for you. Also, you would be taking anywhere from 2-4 courses for that week. You might take ASA levels 101 (Basic Keelboat Sailing), 103 (Basic Coastal Cruising), & 104 (Bareboat Charter). Or, 105 (Coastal Navigation) & 106 (Advanced Coastal Cruising) while 114 (Cruising Catamaran) could go into either group. Private sailing school with Captain Shel costs approximately $500/day on your boat or a chartered boat. You get to choose the location, schedule, and itinerary. You may have anywhere from 1 to 6 students depending on the size of your boat and accommodations.
